Uncovering your purpose

We all have a purpose! It can sound like such a cliché and yet when you discover your purpose and embrace it, magic happens. Suddenly, you've got a compass pointing you in a direction.

Many women believe their purpose lies in either raising a family or pursuing a career. However, what happens when those are change? The kids grow up. You lose your job. You decide you need a new direction. Suddenly, the things that once defined you no longer hold the same meaning or they evolve into something else entirely.

For years, I was uncertain about my purpose, thinking it was tied to the skills I brought to my job. Whenever I felt dissatisfied at work, I felt I had lost my sense of purpose. I knew there had to be more. During coach training, I dug in deep, and spent months to tune in to my purpose. In work with a fellow coach, I shared my passions and mystical experiences, and to my surprise, my purpose became so clear. I just had been trying too hard to make it grand. Tears came quickly when she read it aloud to me. My purpose is to “gather the women for connection and healing.” I am learning that "the women" is evolving and not a fixed, specific group of women.

As we talked after coming up with my statement, I realized I’ve been a gatherer of groups of women much of my adult life in various ways. I love small groups of women gathered around a common interest. They can be so nourishing for the soul. I love the intimate, organic conversations that happen.

In my short time as a coach, I’ve led nearly a dozen women through uncovering their purpose and each time the visible shift in them is remarkable. They stand taller and a confidence comes over them. Their purpose will evolve and change, and aligning with their purpose builds self-trust.

In Human Design, your purpose is reflected in various areas of your chart. While the Profile is a common starting place, other elements within the chart can also unveil your purpose and assist in discovering a statement that truly resonates with you for this time in your life. Your purpose will evolve and change throughout your life.

You have a purpose. It’s not what your parents told you. It’s not to be a parent and raise kids, though that can feel like your only purpose at times. It’s not your career or what you majored in in college. Your purpose isn’t a destination, it’s part of the journey that adds meaning, depth, and color to your existence.

Feeling lost like you don’t have a purpose? Discovering your purpose involves exploring your values, strengths, passions, and tapping back into what you truly loved as a kid. Let's dive into your purpose using my Purpose technique and your Human Design blueprint over three enlightening sessions!
