What if it's not a label, and instead a permission slip?

Hey there,

We collect labels all our lives.

Some we love and some we hate.
Bossy. Sensitive. Overachiever. Lazy.

And later those labels become roles, and sometimes even identities: lawyer, mom, coordinator, creative.

Some feel empowering. Some feel limiting.

Most of the time? We didn’t choose them—they were handed to us.

This week, I’ve been thinking a lot about the labels we carry—and the ones we are so ready to take off.

In Human Design, people usually start with their Type—and for good reason. It’s often the first piece that resonates and makes you think, “Oh… this is why I do things the way I do.”

But Type isn’t a checkbox.
It’s not another another box to fit into.
It’s not another label.

It’s a permission slip.

A permission slip to…
✨ do what lights you up (Generators)
✨ pivot when things no longer feel right (Manifesting Generators)
✨ stop asking for permission and just inform (Manifestors)
✨ guide and be recognized for your insight (Projectors)
✨ tune into the right environment and trust what you sense (Reflectors)

I work with so many women in midlife who’ve spent years doing what they should. Wearing all the labels, some with pride. Filling the roles. Saying yes when deep down... they really want to say no.

But your Human Design isn't another personality test where you wonder why it kind of fits and also kind of doesn't.

It shows you how you already are—and gives you language to start trusting that.

✨ It’s not about becoming someone new.
✨ It’s about coming home to who you’ve always been.

If you’re curious about this, I talk more in this week’s podcast episode about how I see type, identity, and what it means to finally live in alignment with who you really are.

You’ll also hear why I'll never ask “What do you do?” the same way again—and why that small shift matters more than we think.

Maybe today is the day that you write yourself your own permission slip for your next adventure... rather than just signing the one for your kid's next field trip.

Truly take care of yourself.
